Kristen and Frederico – Reception at Fratello’s Manchester NH

Saturday May 15th, 2010 could not have been a brighter, prettier day for a wedding! Kristen and Frederico’s 11AM wedding meant we could use that gorgeous light all day long, and we did. Bright and early we met  up with our bride and groom to witness them preparing for their day. Frederico and his father are clearly the best of friends and both of these guys were going to enjoy the ceremony ahead. Our groom was a picture of calm bravery…and no (hardly any) butterflies to speak of! We shot a few formals in the gardens on the hotel grounds and before we knew it the limosine had arrived.

First Baptist Church was filled with late morning light for Kristen and Frederico…the weather being that one thing you just can’t control, it seems like luck is already shining on them. These two love each other and it shows. Even with First Baptist’s “big room” feel, their vows seemed intimate…maybe just between friends.

Vows, kissing, more photos with family, champagne toast, back in the limo and off…  …to shoot a few formals before their official re-introduction as husband and wife!

Fratello’s, as it turns out, is an excellent location for an afternoon reception. Our newlyweds clearly enjoy the company of great friends and family. The dance floor was alive with a fun, vibrant (and completely unselfconscious) mix of people! That’s the kind of thing that makes our job a good time…that and a few frames we think are classics from the click of the shutter!  Those don’t happen without the right light or without a couple of lovebirds newlyweds to stand in it. Let’s not forget…Fratello’s food was fantastic…the dessert was positively humbling!

Saturday went by in a flash (mostly at 1/125 second)…they always do when people are having a great time, the spirit of the day is animated…the weather rocked!…and two people just happened to have this beautiful wedding and we were there for it! …always an honor to be a part of something so special.

Vanessa and Casey – Wedding at the Steele Hill Resort in Sanbornton NH

Any number of things can make or break a wedding day for a photographer. On Saturday all conditions conspired to deliver to Casey and Vanessa (and their photographers) a picture perfect evening. Steele Hill Resort provides a gorgeous backdrop for an evening wedding…the kind that makes memories and the sort that picture-people will talk about for years! A mid-summer’s evening light, a pleasantly clouded sky, Winnisquam as a backdrop and two beautiful newlyweds brought out so many beautiful formal photos that we sorta wanted to blow off the reception until the sky went dark! Vanessa was every bit the wedding model…the poise that others will turn to and say “I want THAT look”…and she was just as patient as could be for the photos, considering the hundred-plus guest waiting to greet them back inside the resort. Casey and the guys completed this handsome party with a summertime-formal, “breeze-in, breeze-out” charm, in both style and character!

Back inside the resort, the DJ of the evening, Mike from SplitPersonality kept people dancing and seriously kept things fun…lots of well-timed banter and a genuine connection with the people he was entertaining!…another one of those little tidbits that make a photographer’s job fun… …people that dance! Vanessa and Casey have a super crowd of friends and family! The dance floor was packed from the get-go…everybody up and gyrating, even the littlest partiers!

Not only did Steele Hill provide a beautiful backdrop for a wonderful wedding ceremony…they’re to be commended for friendly staff and an absolutely stellar meal!… honestly, how many times do you really want seconds of your wedding dinner? Again,…cheers to the resort.

At this point, Vanessa and Casey are enjoying their honeymoon and the first days of the next chapter of their life together. We’re looking over our favorite shots of the evening and thinking well of our bride and groom. They gave us a fantastic day with pictures that we can be thrilled to say we made, and thrilled to deliver…and we wish them all the best in marriage!

Trash The Dress

I drove 8hrs (483 miles) to Buffalo, NY to attend a Trash The Dress photo session. I had the privilege of staying with Shelley Kuhn and her family. Shelley is a Professional Photographer and is also part of a photography group in Buffalo, NY. Shelley organized the whole event. I also have to give credit to the two models, they are Guy William and Margot Lane. Well without further delay here are the photos.
