FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

When will we be able to see our pictures?

You will be able to view all your wedding photos online in about a week. After your picture selection you should receive your prints in approximately 4 weeks.

How does photo selection for the album work and how do we know what it will look like before it is printed and bound, and when will we receive it.

You can pick 30 of your favorites, and I'll do the rest. A professional designer will arrange your album to reflect the story of your day. Once the design is ready, you will be able to see the layout on my web site where you will can browse each page as it will be in the book. Depending on the wedding season, it can take up to six months to receive your completed storybook/coffee table album.

Do you travel outside of the New Hampshire area for wedding coverage?

Yes. I do travel. Travel costs are based on round-trip from my home to your location and back. If you think the total travel will be more then 60 miles round trip, please contact me and I will be happy to give you a customized quote.

What is "Online Proofing Galleries "?

Online proofing is a service that I provide through my website http://photos.exposethemoment.com/Weddings. You will be able to view all of your wedding photos there. From this web site your friends and family can view the entire wedding and order any prints they may want.

Q: Do you shoot digital or film and what type of equipment do you use? Can digital still make large prints?

A: I currently only shoot in digital format using Canon professional equipment. I feel that there are many technical advantages to digital over film in the way I use it and I love the control I have over the output quality of my images. I typically print anywhere from wallet to poster sized (20x30") prints from my digital images. I have no qualms about the quality or detail I get from my images. Please contact me with any questions regarding larger prints than listed on our web site or any special print requests.

Q: Do we make payments or pay the full amount at contract signing? What types of payment do you accept?

A: You can certainly pay the full coverage fee at the time you return a signed contract. However, I understand that a payment plan can be of added value and convenience to you. If you choose to pay in installments, as stated in my contract, I ask that $500 is paid at the time of the contract signing. This amount is a non refundable retainer that assures that I reserve the date for your wedding and any other inquiry for that date is refused. The second payment of one third of the total cost is due 90 days before the wedding, with the final one third due two weeks before the wedding. I accept cash, personal checks and money orders. I also accept Credit Cards. Credit Card payment is available thru Paypal.

Q: Do you photograph any posed formal pictures or work from a shot list?

A: I’m happy to work with you on the formals/group shots that you may want, however my approach to formals/group shots is short and sweet (approximately 20-30 minutes) as this allows you more time to be with your guests and enjoy your wedding day. I do not work from specific shot list. Since I make every effort to document the entire day, I find that shot lists are unnecessary.

Q: Do we have to pay for our negatives? And, what does it mean when your contract states that you retain the copyrights to the images?

A: Some of my packages include a CD of Your high resolution negatives and they are yours to keep. For the packages that do not include the CD of high resolution negatives you can purchase them as an additional option.

Although upon further contract signing I am open to limited terms of copyright release, such as allowing you to make reprints to share with friends and family; however I do retain the copyrights to all of the images captured. This means that according to United States copyright law, all images taken by a professional photographer are copyrighted by that photographer who owns all rights to them. {17 USC 106.} Since I hold the copyrights to all images captured, you will not be allowed to use the images or negatives for any reason other than private personal use.

Q: What if I want an item that is not included on your packages/pricing page?

A: If you don't see an item in my package/pricing page that you'd like me to include, please don't hesitate to call me at (603) 513-2385 or email me at gary@exposethemoment.com  and let me know.
