Every little girl dreams of walking down the aisle on her wedding day to meet her Prince Charming at the altar. These dreams include visions of fairytale dresses, beautiful hair, and flawless makeup. In order to achieve that picture-perfect makeup, it is essential that your eyelashes look their absolute best. Here is what every bride needs to know about achieve gorgeous eyelashes on her special day:

Eyelash Growth Formulas

Eyelash growth serums are formulated to encourage faster eyelash growth. Most serums will produce noticeable results after approximately one month of consistent use. However, the eyelashes will not reach their full potential until after at least three months of use. Because of this, be sure to start the treatment well in advance of your wedding day. You can find growth serums in either prescription strength or over the counter. When choosing an OTC formula, look for products that contain peptides partnered with conditioning ingredients such as biotin or panthenol. Although the serums are considered safe, be on the lookout for side effects such as dry eyes or puffy eyelids.

Removable Faux Eyelashes

Unlike serums which take time to see the full effects, removable faux eyelashes can give your lashes an immediate boost. These small bunches of human or synthetic hair are available in glued or magnetic forms. False eyelashes can be applied in small sections if you are aiming for a subtle look or you can apply an entire piece if you are looking to go bold. Users of false eyelashes need to be aware that they can cause infection or irritation.

Eyelash Extensions

Synthetic mink eyelash extensions come in various thicknesses and lengths, suitable for creating any look from sultry and luxurious to subtle and elegant. Because of their hardy nature, you do not need to worry about streaking or clumping when the inevitable tears come on your wedding day. This versatility makes extensions a good choice for your walk down the aisle. While this may be a costly option, the positive results are undeniable. You will also have to be committed to performing the maintenance needed; you cannot use an oil-based makeup remover, or the glue will loosen, and the lashes will fall off.

With the right research and tools, you can achieve the eyelashes you have already dreamed of. What better day to show them off than on your wedding day?

You will definitely want memories of your special day for the rest of your life, so make sure to have the absolute best photos you can. That’s the speciality of Expose the Moment, capturing those emotional, powerful, and memorable memories for all time!

4 Tips for Putting Together a Summer Wedding https://www.exposethemoment.com/blog/2019/4/4-Tips-for-Putting-Together-a-Summer-Wedding Destination Wedding 150x100 - 4 Tips for Putting Together a Summer WeddingDestination-Wedding-150x100

Summer wedding season is right around the corner. If you are one of the lucky couples to be tying the knot this summer, it is important that you begin examining the details relevant to getting married during this time of the year. Here are four tips to help you put together a picture-perfect summer wedding day:

Have Tents Ready

Because summer weather can be fickle, it is important to have backup plans in place in the case of inclement conditions. If you are planning an outdoor ceremony or reception, it is recommended to have tents ready. Sperry Tents says that protective tents will shield guests from the blazing sun or from summer rain showers. You will sleep better in the days leading up to the big day if you know that you are prepared for any condition.

Don’t Skimp on Food

Although it may be tempting to go with a lighter selection of food in the warmer summer months, it is still important to provide a full meal to your guests. LowCountry Catering points out that many catering companies are flexible in crafting a menu that will both meet your wedding’s budget and style. Some catering companies can also be bundled with other event planning services to save money.

Take Advantage of Seasonal Flowers

One of the best things about having a summer wedding is the wide availability of fresh summer flowers. Take advantage of lower prices by choosing buds that are in season. It is also important to select flowers that are not prone to wilting in the heat if you plan on having an outdoor wedding. Keeping the flowers cool up until the last minute will help to keep your blooms looking beautiful throughout the day.

Choose Lighter Fabrics

Summer is not the time to go with a heavy gown. Savvy brides choose fabrics that are appropriate for warm weather. Jasmine Bridal advises using crepe, cotton organdy, chiffon, or voile placed over silk. Choosing a lighter fabric will keep you more comfortable and avoid potentially embarrassing situations such as sweaty armpits. If you are having an outdoor ceremony, it is also a good idea to skip the long train.

Although warm-weather weddings can present some unique challenges, the benefits of a summer ceremony far outweigh the disadvantages. With a little advanced planning, you can leverage the positives of a summer wedding and plan the day that you have always dreamed of.

Are you having an outdoor wedding this summer? Do you have an experience and professional photographer for the big day? If not, contact Expose The Moment and book your photographer today!

Is it Safe for Guests to Drive After Drinking Champagne at Your Wedding Reception? https://www.exposethemoment.com/blog/2019/3/Is-it-Safe-for-Guests-to-Drive-After-Drinking-Champagne-at-Your-Wedding-Reception Wedding Champagne 150x100 - Is it Safe for Guests to Drive After Drinking Champagne at Your Wedding Reception?Wedding-Champagne-150x100

Your wedding can be the most memorable event of your life, both for better or for worse. Hopefully, the good reasons far outweigh the bad. However, there are some precautions you need to take to avoid regrets associated with excessive champagne consumption during your reception.

Does Champagne Make You Drunk Faster?

Champagne is delicious and can add a sense of class to your event, but does it really get you drunk faster and easier than other kinds of alcohol? There is now plenty of evidence to support the hypothesis that the bubbles in champagne cause people to get drunk significantly faster than alcoholic beverages with no fizz. Some scientists think it has to do with the carbon dioxide causing the alcohol to end up in the intestines much faster, leading to higher blood alcohol levels at faster rates. Although one glass of champagne is about equal to one shot of liquor, the champagne often has stronger effects.

Champagne is often the primary beverage served at wedding receptions. Guests at your reception are likely to have more than one glass of champagne, causing their blood alcohol concentration (BAC) to spike very quickly.

While the legal BAC level for driving under the influence is 0.8 in most states, just a 0.2 BAC can decrease the quality of vision in drivers. This means that just one glass of champagne can be enough to prevent many of your guests from driving home after your reception.

Can You Be Held Responsible?

So many newlyweds conduct wedding ceremonies and receptions without really understanding the laws that govern such activities. These days, practically any public serving of alcoholic beverages can involve the law, and wedding receptions are no exception.

Did you know that in some states, the bride and groom can be held responsible if there is a serious or fatal DUI or DWI involved with one or more of their guests? Many new couples don’t, and some find themselves at the center of unfortunate incidents after their reception ends.

DWI and DUI laws vary by state. For example, anyone caught driving with a blood alcohol content (BAC) of .08% or higher can be arrested for DWI in most jurisdictions. However, those caught driving with a BAC of less than that will be charged with driving under the influence (DUI), which is a lesser offense.

But when they concern the hosts of parties and their guests, they generally fall into three categories.

  • Some states do not have any laws that directly address this issue.
  • Some states claim the hosts aren’t responsible.
  • Some states have special criteria that determine if hosts are responsible.

In the states which have laws that do hold hosts responsible, everyone involved in the planning and execution of the event in which alcohol was served excessively can be held liable and charged with gross negligence. This can even include anyone whose name is imprinted on the wedding invitations, including the bride and groom.

It’s definitely to your advantage to find out what laws exist in your state, but it’s always better to be prepared for the worst case scenario anyway. This is especially true for a wedding, which should be a positive and momentous occasion.

Transportation Planning

With all the expenses that come with a wedding and a wedding reception, you may be tempted to cut corners and save some money. However, when it comes to you and your guests getting home safely, no expense should be spared. Let this be a general rule for keeping out of trouble. Many limousine companies offer special discount rates for the bride and groom and their guests because of the possibility of drunk driving after a reception.

Your special day should be fun for you and your guests. But nothing sucks the fun out of your wedding reception like an arrest warrant. By planning ahead and thinking through the details of your event — the food, the drinks, the seating arrangements, the cakes, and (of course) the music–you can ensure that you and your guests have a memorable event for all of the right reasons.

Capturing your special day on film is essential for remembering it for the rest of your life. Make sure your wedding photos are exactly as you’d like them to be. Let Expose the Moment capture this magnificent event. Check us out today!

Want a Location Wedding? Look to These 3 Underrated Spots https://www.exposethemoment.com/blog/2019/3/Want-a-Location-Wedding-Look-to-These-3-Underrated-Spots Vineyard Wedding 150x100 - Want a Location Wedding? Look to These 3 Underrated SpotsVineyard-Wedding-150x100

One of the greatest aspects of getting married is traveling to a beautiful destination to say your vows and begin your new life together. There are plenty of places to explore and enjoy with your new spouse. However, instead of flocking to the standard locations for your wedding that are packed full of other newlyweds, you should instead go somewhere that sees less traffic but is no less beautiful. Not only will this make you feel more special because the number of newlyweds is reduced, but it will also offer a sense of intimacy that you cannot get at tourist-jammed locations. Here are three underrated spots that you should consider for your wedding.

Alderbrook Station

This gorgeous building in Oregon rests just over the Colorado River. Besides being built in 1903, this building also only ever hosts one or two weddings a year. This offers newlyweds an experience that only a few people have claimed in the past. It also means they get to use the beautiful and historic building without an influx of tourists ruining their big day. Alderbrook Station offers rustic charm with old rope and fishing gear that can make the wedding appear charming and intimate.

The Lodge at Brother’s Cove

Have you ever wanted to say your vows with the beautiful Smoky Mountains setting the scene? You can easily accomplish this dream by placing your wedding at The Lodge at Brother’s Cove. This is perfect for couples who enjoy nature. This location offers large spaces made of beautiful wood to connect you with the surrounding nature all while ensuring your guests remain protected from unscheduled rain or the hot sun. There are plenty of vacation rentals throughout the Smoky Mountains, so if you’re fond of the area, you can have your honeymoon there as well.

Malibu Rocky Oaks Estate Vineyards

If you love wine and fantastic views, then you need to have your wedding at the Malibu Rocky Oaks Estate. With sprawling fields and hills of grapes and nature, the location can hardly be more picturesque for a beautiful wedding. During the reception, you can expect some of the best wine to make an appearance, too. Since the venue sits 400 guests, you can invite everyone you want without sacrificing on space.

Don’t have a cookie-cutter wedding. Choose one of these underrated spots for a unique and beautiful day, and take Expose the Moment with you!

4 Things You Need to Do Well Before the Wedding https://www.exposethemoment.com/blog/2019/3/4-Things-You-Need-to-Do-Well-Before-the-Wedding Wedding Rings 150x100 - 4 Things You Need to Do Well Before the WeddingWedding-Rings-150x100

While there are some things you can do a few weeks or days before your wedding, many others require months of preparation. Starting early will alleviate some of your stress and let you enjoy getting ready for your big day.

Keep reading to discover four things you need to start working on well before your wedding.

Determining Your Budget

Go ahead and figure out how much you can spend well in advance. You can do this on your own, use guides, or find a wedding cost estimator. Knowing how much you can pay for everything will make it easier to buy your dress, book the location of the wedding and reception, and purchase anything else you need. Don’t forget to budget for the honeymoon and after-rehearsal dinner.

Decorations (Especially if You’re DIY-ing)

Start working on your decorations several months before your wedding. This is especially important if you’re planning on making them yourself.

Start by searching online for ideas. Pinterest is a good platform to use. You’ll get tons of ideas and can easily organize and save them. Once you’ve decided on the décor, go ahead and start making it or hire someone to do it for you.

Significant Beauty Procedures

Make appointments for significant beauty treatments well in advance. This can include straightening teeth, plastic surgery, and acne treatments.

If you plan to have plastic surgery, it’s best to go ahead and schedule it at least six months before your wedding date since it can take weeks to completely heal. Start long-term treatments for acne several months ahead of time to give your skin plenty of time to respond.

If you don’t have the time or resources for traditional braces, there are alternatives that can still straighten your teeth in time for the wedding.

Researching and Booking Specialists and Staff

Research photographers, caterers and florists several months before the wedding. You also need to find your venue, and hire a DJ, and any other additional services you may want.  They tend to book up quickly, so it’s best to decide who you want to hire early. Most people will want you to put down a deposit, so prepare financially to do so.

Planning for a wedding is exciting, but it’s also a lot of work. The best way to make sure you enjoy your special day is to start preparing early. By giving yourself ample time to get ready, you’ll cut down on stress and be less likely to feel rushed to get everything done at the last minute. This will help you devote your time and attention to your family, friends and future spouse.

4 Tips for Preserving Your Wedding Photos for Years to Come https://www.exposethemoment.com/blog/2018/11/4-Tips-for-Preserving-Your-Wedding-Photos-for-Years-to-Come Wedding Couple 150x100 - 4 Tips for Preserving Your Wedding Photos for Years to ComeWedding-Couple-150x100

Your wedding photos are very important. They capture love through the passage of time. These images can be later shared with loved ones, making it imperative that you think about proper conservation. The following are four tips to ensure your pictures last as long as possible.

Backups Are a Must

One thing you need to do is have several backups. Some people just keep the negatives, but it is not a good idea to put all your eggs in one basket because anything could happen. What you want to do is have negatives, have your photographs in cloud drives, and keep external drives just to be safe. This is going to cost a little extra, but your photographs are priceless and worth the effort.

Store Photos Carefully

When storing photos, it’s tempting to grab a shoebox, pop a few stacks of photos inside, and call it a day. Don’t do this. It may seem like a spacesaver, but you should never store photos in stacks. Even in a climate-controlled storage unit, there’s still the risk of these photos sticking together. This risk becomes even greater if you store photos in stacks for a long period of time. You also have to make sure that you protect your photographs from direct sunlight. Not only do UV rays degrade color, but they can also increase the chances of your photographs degrading since the paper they are printed on cannot withstand constant heat.

Dryness is Vital

Moisture in the atmosphere is not something people think about when it comes to storing their wedding photographs, but it is important to consider. Too much moisture in the air can increase the chances of your photographs sticking to each other. It can also make it easier for mold to develop. Too much moisture can attract insects. You do not want dampness around your photographs, so be sure to store your pictures in a dry storage space. You don’t want to have to play emergency salvage with your wedding photos.

Know How to Handle Them

You might be surprised to learn that one of the most common reasons photographs degrade prematurely is because people simply mishandle them. Of course, part of the reason you want to keep your photographs as beautiful as ever is to share them, but you have to learn how to share your images properly. For one, it might be a good idea to remove foods and drinks from the area before bringing your photographs out. You should also make sure you wear cotton gloves when handling your pictures because the natural oils in your hands can degrade your pictures, too. Those who do not have gloves may want to handle the pictures by holding them by their edges.

It may seem like a chore to learn how to preserve your pictures, but it is worth your time and effort. These are the memories you hold dear, and these photographs are precious because they hold some of the beauty of that day.

What Does Your Engagement Ring Say About You? https://www.exposethemoment.com/blog/2018/11/What-Does-Your-Engagement-Ring-Say-About-You couple engagement ring 150x100 - What Does Your Engagement Ring Say About You?couple-engagement-ring-150x100

Your engagement ring is the most significant and long-term style commitment you’ll probably make. It’s also an expensive purchase, so it’s essential that you choose a design that you’ll love for a lifetime. Taking the time to try out a variety of styles is an excellent way to get a sense of what you like. This way, when your special day comes along and the photographers are out and about, you’ll feel confident in not only your dress, but with your engagement ring and new band.

What Are Custom Rings?

Custom rings are one-of-a-kind engagement rings and fine jewelry for brides and grooms. A custom ring shows the unique love and personalities of the couple. If you’re the kind of bride who doesn’t care for traditional styles, a custom ring might be just what you’re looking for. A custom-designed engagement ring will feel creative, inspired, and like a reflection of your personality. No one in the world will have a ring exactly like yours. It will attract attention and become a conversation starter for a lifetime. Creating matching rings will create a symbol of who you are as a couple.

There are trade-offs when it comes to designing a custom ring. First, it’s more expensive and can cost up to three times the amount of a traditional ring. The precise cost is dependent on the design and jeweler you choose. But again, you will have a perfectly customized product tailored to your needs and personality.

What Does Each Style Say About You?

The shape and style that you select express your unique personality, the kind of person you are, and how you view yourself. You must analyze and assess yourself before picking out an engagement ring. Below is an explanation of the variety of cuts to help you make a more informed decision.

Round Cut

The round cut is a classic, timeless style. It’s ideal for the bride who wants a traditional look. It contains 57 facets that reflect light from the diamond to the eye. The round cut is the most popular choice of diamond and exudes sophistication and glamour. If you love tradition, simplicity, and elegance wrapped into one, this style is for you. This cut is versatile, and you can wear it with anything. The brilliant faceting appeals to women who desire maximum sparkle.

Princess Cut

A princess-cut diamond has four beveled sides. It’s square at the top and resembles an upside-down pyramid. The princess cut is one of the fanciest cuts of diamond with a contemporary style. This shape reflects edge, style, and beauty. It is one of the most chosen engagement rings due to its crisp edges and brilliant facets. The bride-to-be who wears this ring is romantic, loves fairy tales, and wants to feel like a princess. At the same time, they are modern thinkers who embrace a variety of influences and have a well-rounded view of the world.

Emerald Cut

The emerald cut is an elongated shape that appeals to women with an understated side. The emerald diamond is well-known for its distinctive shape. It has layered corners and long facets, presenting a look similar to stairs. Emerald cuts exude refinement and elegance with the form of the stone highlighting clarity better than any other cut. The wearer of this diamond is likely daring and bold with a sense of stability and quiet confidence.

Cushion Cut

The cushion-cut style, also known as pillow cut, is both trendy and feminine. These stones range in shape from rectangular to square. Compared to other cuts, they have larger facets and rounded corners. A bride who wears a cushion-cut diamond appreciates individual style and elegance. She recognizes that tradition is an integral part of her personality and loves vintage luxury. The cushion shape has an antique look that evokes the glamour of the 1920s.

Oval Cut

The oval cut is an up-and-coming diamond and is excellent for those who appreciate class and elegance but love to stay ahead of the trends. It’s oblong and carries carat weight well, which enhances its appearance. The wearer is likely a smart, creative, bright, and individualistic person who enjoys expressing their uniqueness. The oval cut also looks stunning on long, slender fingers. This cut also helps to create an illusion of length for shorter fingers.

Pear Cut

Shaped like a tear, the pear-cut diamond is one of the least common choices among engagement-ring cuts, making it ideal for the daring kind of woman. The pear cut is all about romanticism, personality, lively sophistication, and vibrancy. Pear diamonds are stylish and bold. A pear-cut stone looks like a cross between a marquise and a round stone. It’s a truly unique diamond that shows confidence that’s imbued with a sense of fun. This is the perfect stone if you don’t want a ring like everyone else’s.

Marquise Cut

If you’re looking for the ultimate in elegance, the marquise cut is the diamond for you. The tapered tips and slender profile make it appear more substantial than its carat weight. The marquise diamond was once an unusual choice, but its popularity has grown over the years. A woman who wears this style loves vintage and glamour and tends to be dramatic and daring. The marquise cut is for rebels who like to move to the beat of their own drum.

Radiant Cut

The radiant cut is similar to the emerald cut, and it’s shaped like an octagon. The radiant-cut diamond has 70 light-reflecting facets, making it a stunning sparkler. Women who choose this cut tend to be outgoing and flashy. It’s a versatile choice that looks beautiful in a setting with round side diamonds or baguettes. It has an elongated shape that helps shorter fingers appear longer. The radiant cut is perfect for any woman who is charming and exotic. It provides a traditional sparkle that doesn’t veer too far away from a classic engagement-ring look.

10 Things That Should Shine on Your Wedding https://www.exposethemoment.com/blog/2018/11/10-Things-That-Should-Shine-on-Your-Wedding Beach Wedding 150x105 - 10 Things That Should Shine on Your WeddingBeach-Wedding-150x105

Your wedding day is something that you may have dreamed of for almost your entire life. It’s a time where you get to celebrate the decision that you and your partner have made to commit your lives to one another. You both will remember this wedding day for the rest of your lives. While this will be a shining memory of your life when you look back, there are many things that can actually shine at the event. Here are 10 things that should most definitely shine on your wedding.

The Moment

There are going to be multiple “big” moments at your wedding, at both the ceremony and the reception. Because of this, each of these moments should shine. You only have this day once, and you’ve been dreaming of it and planning it for so long, so good planning can help you to savor every moment instead of managing unexpected crises. An easy way to ensure that you enjoy your day is to book an inclusive wedding package. An inclusive wedding package will take care of the primary elements of a wedding. Emotions can be overwhelming at weddings, which is why a well-run event can allow you to take in and remember every moment while you can. The day goes by fast, but the moments and the memories that you make on your wedding day will last a lifetime.

The Lights at the Venue

The locations of your wedding and your reception are some of the very first factors that you typically plan for your special day. One of the most important factors about these locations that most people don’t consider is the lighting that each location offers. The majority of weddings take place during the daytime, so if you’re planning on having a wedding outdoors, then the sun shining down on you should be a consideration. But if you’re planning on having your wedding ceremony in a church or in a different building, then the lighting is important to plan since it’s not the natural light of the sun. The lighting can be different for every type of wedding, but the ceremony should be well lit so that the light can reflect off of everything to ensure the best view for everyone attending the wedding.

The wedding reception is different in a way that the lighting can be more relaxed. Having more relaxed lighting at the reception encourages the people attending your wedding to unwind and have a good time with good music, food, and friends.

The Guest Tables

Not only should the guests at your wedding shine, but the tables where they sit should shine as well. There are many factors that can be considered when decorating tables that are for a wedding, including the type of tablecloth, the type of centerpiece, and the color of the themes. The centerpieces on each table contribute to the theme of the wedding. If you want to choose where guests are placed, plan a seating chart. This is a good thing for big weddings where you can be sure everyone gets seats with friends and loved ones. If your wedding is smaller and more informal, you can always reserve bridal and family tables while letting friends fend for themselves.

The Dresses and Suits

Your bridesmaids and groomsmen can help a wedding to shine with the right choices of attire. Clothing should coordinate with your theme as planned. You can match your bridesmaids or allow them to choose their own styles in a matching color. Groomsmen can be dressed in the same color suits and ties, or they may follow a theme whether it’s beach casual or Scottish kilt. To add an air of elegance, the dresses and suits can be tailored to fit each of the individuals perfectly.

Camera Flashes

Hiring a professional photographer to take pictures at your wedding is an investment. Because of this, you’re going to have them take a great number of pictures, and you want to look good for every single one of them. Make sure you hire a photographer who has experience as well as the understanding that your wedding day is the most special day of your life. The flash of the camera is another thing that shines on your wedding day, and you can’t have this without hiring a professional, experienced, and understanding photographer.

Your Smile

Your wedding day is going to be filled with a rush of various emotions, both good and bad. Most of the time, you will likely be smiling whether it’s spontaneously out of joy or because someone has asked you for yet another picture. You should be able to feel confident in how to look when you express your emotions, and this not only applies to your wedding day but every day. You should feel confident in your smile, and your smile should be able to represent how you truly feel inside.

You can get your smile to shine in a number of different ways, from whitening your teeth to putting on a nice shade of lipstick. You’ll want to make sure your teeth are extra white if your dress is white. There are multiple ways in which you can whiten your teeth to add some shine to your smile. You can wear whitening strips, apply whitening stain to your teeth, or you can get your teeth professionally whitened by a dentist. Of course, natural, healthy-colored teeth will also look great on your big day. Regardless of how you are comfortable with getting your white teeth, you will be able to confidently express your happiness on your wedding day.

Your Ring

You’ve already been given an engagement ring prior to your wedding, so you will want to make sure that it looks shiny on your wedding day. This is something that a great number of brides don’t consider since there are so many other things to worry about at your wedding. But making sure your ring is shiny is a small gesture that goes a long way. You’ll be wearing a wedding band by the end of the day, so you will have a great amount of attention on the rings on your hand all day.

According to Jacob Mercari, the safest way to clean an engagement ring depends on the materials in the ring. Some metals and stones are considered soft, or easy to damage, and some are considered hard. Hard stones and metals are easy to clean, but take caution with soft metals and stones.

There are many ways that you can make the ring on your finger shine, including anywhere from soaking it in chemicals to rinsing it, which all depends on the material that your ring is made out of. If you have a gold ring, the best home remedy for making your ring shine is by soaking it for a few minutes in beer. But if your ring is silver, then the best way to get your ring to shine is by using baking soda. You can create a paste of baking soda and water and let the ring soak in this scrub. After a few minutes, rinse your ring in vinegar and your ring will shine like it’s brand new. In addition to these methods, you can also clean any type of ring with a toothbrush because the bristles of the toothbrush can clean areas of your ring that no other instrument can at home. Lastly, you can clean your ring with window cleaner, which adds a great deal of shine. Your jeweler may have a free cleaning program if you ask.

The Getaway Car

When the wedding is over, you typically plan the getaway car that you use to drive away together for the first time as a married couple. The getaway car that you and your partner plan on driving away in should shine; this can be accomplished by choosing something flashy to rent or borrow or by giving your own car a good wash and wax.

Stars at Your Reception

The people who attend your wedding are some of the most important people in your life. However, not everyone gets along perfectly with beloved family. Because of this, you need to make sure that you invite people who can mitigate drama on your big day. After all, it is you and your partner’s big day, and the guests are simply attending to your celebration. The people at your wedding need to shine and show you how they support and love you and your partner being together.

Your Happiness

Your wedding day is your one big day that you can shine and let yourself finally relax after planning. It’s a relief knowing that the one day you’ve been planning for is finally here. Ultimately, you are celebrating you and your partner’s decision to spend the rest of your lives together. You should feel happy that you have the support system that you do, and you should let this happiness shine through your attitudes and facial expressions. Overall, have a good time, and don’t let stress get in the way of your wedding day.

Mason Jars at Wedding Receptions: Truly Tacky or Brilliantly Budget? https://www.exposethemoment.com/blog/2018/11/Mason-Jars-at-Wedding-Receptions-Truly-Tacky-or-Brilliantly-Budget Flowers Mason 150x99 - Mason Jars at Wedding Receptions: Truly Tacky or Brilliantly Budget?Flowers-Mason-150x99

While there are some terrible ideas for using Mason jars at weddings, like jamming pens in an undecorated one on the sign-in table, there are many different ways that Mason jars are the perfect inexpensive accessory for your wedding. Consider these ideas for using Mason jars at your wedding.

Center Aisle

If you are planning on an outside wedding, then use Mason jars to help create a center aisle for the bridal party to walk down. Roll out your paper aisle and line both sides with Mason jars holding beautiful flower arrangements or battery-operated candles. You will love the festive look, and it is easy to incorporate your wedding colors.

Guest Water Bottles

You can easily serve guests cold water in a Mason jar. Simply fill the jar with ice water leaving room for the water to expand after the ice melts. Then, add a rubber gasket to the top of the jar. Finally, poke a hole in the lid big enough for a straw to go through. Then, add the straw and serve to your guests as they arrive at your outdoor wedding. You can use any type of straw that you desire from cheap plastic ones to high-quality stainless steel ones.

Beverage Containers

Mason jars are the perfect holder for cocktails and punch at your wedding. You can easily tie a piece of raffia around them and add a real flower in your wedding color. People will love how easy they are to hold, and you will love their unique look. If you do not want to use real flowers, then consider adding burlap flowers and use buttons for their middles.

Centerpieces

You can easily use Mason jars to add a rustic vibe to wedding reception centerpieces. Start by getting pieces of wood and shellacking them. Then, add Mason jars filled with small fruit, leaves and other items. Finally, pour some oil into the jar and add a floating wick if desired. Round pieces of wood work best on round tables while you may want to consider logs for rectangular tables.

Photo Displays

You can easily create a photo display of you, and you’re lucky other with Mason jars. Determine the inside diameter of your jar and cut photos to that size. Then, use tacky glue to adhere the photos inside the jars. You can even attach lids holding paper circles telling more details about when and where the photo was taken.

Flower Arrangements

The-Knot-300x199

While you might not want to put the bride’s bouquet in a Mason jar for her to carry, you can easily place flower arrangements in Mason jars. In order to create these easily at home, start with large flowers. Then, add some herbs and greenery until the arrangement looks full. Finally, add in some extras to make each arrangement look colorful and unique.

Wedding Fans

If you are hosting your wedding reception outside, then consider making homemade wedding fans. Just tape a decorated piece of cardstock to a stick and put them all inside a Mason jar. Then, when guests get hot, they can help themselves to one of your homemade fans.

Desserts

Many delicious desserts can be made in Mason jars. The great news is that many are delicious, and if you are tired at the end of the wedding, Mason jars are so inexpensive that you may just want to toss them in the trash meaning fewer dishes to wash. You can serve any type of cheesecake in them or top them with pie crust for a lid and serve your favorite single-crust pie in them. Guests can also easily carry them home if they are full to enjoy as a midnight snack.

Lighting

Love-Wed-Bliss-300x198

If you are planning an outdoor reception, then Mason jar lighting may be the perfect accent. You can fill them with fairy lights and hang them together to make your own chandeliers. On the other hand, put a battery-operated candle in them and fashion a wire hanger. Then, hang them from a tree where extra lighting is needed to keep your guests safe. Remember to be safe while adding mason jar lights to trees or other shrubbery as you don’t want to the wedding to become a hazardous place. If you have some trees that you think would look great with some mason jar lights, just be sure to trim and reduce the amount of branches and leaves that could interact with fire. Pruning trees also add an aesthetic benefit so it won’t just be a safety issue. You’ll be hitting two birds with one stone.

Table Settings

If you are opting to do a buffet line, then consider using Mason jars for your silverware as it makes it easy for your guests to carry everything. Merely put a cloth handkerchief in the jar and stick your silverware in. Then, you can have someone serve drinks in the jar after your guests are seated. Since the jars are glass, they are much less likely to get spilled during your reception as they will not tip over as easy as styrofoam or plastic options.

Guest Favors

Many items can be put inside a Mason jar for guests to take home with them. If you are planning a winter wedding, then put a candy cane in them and put a pretty piece of fabric or paper on the lid. Alternatively, you can put some lemonade syrup in them for guests to make their own lemonade when they get home. The great news is that if you are creating a seating arrangement, it is also easy to put a name on the jars knocking out two tasks with one beautiful item.

Candles

DIY-300x199

You can easily make your own candles to decorate your wedding in Mason jars. Head to the craft store and buy wick and wax in bulk. Then, tie the wax to a pencil and lay it across the jar’s opening. Pour melted wax into the jar and let it harden. Finally, trim the wick to the desired length. You can use crayons to color the wax or put ice in the jars before pouring in the wax to give the candles a lacy look.

Thank You Gifts

It can be so hard to create thank you gifts for your bridal party while still staying within your budget. Using a Mason jar can help solve that problem easily. You can fill it with homemade bath salt made by combining Epsom salt, baking soda, sea salt, and your favorite essential oils. You can even add a bath pouf at the top in your wedding color to add to the jars festive appearance.

While there are many ways that mason jars can look tacky, mason jars can be very charming when used tastefully, and can make for some beautiful and charming wedding photos. Therefore, make sure you have an ample supply on hand because you will want them everywhere once you start using them.

Finding the right wedding venue is crucial for your big day. But how do you choose? You can find your fairytale venue by asking these simple questions.

How Many People Can It Accommodate?

Be sure to know how many people a venue can accommodate. You don’t want a venue that’s too small for all your guests, and even a venue that’s too large can feel awkward as if enough people didn’t show up. Compare your guest list to the venue’s capacity to find the right fit.

Is It Handicap Accessible?

If you or your guests are disabled, this is extremely important. Nobody should be left out of your big day, so make sure your venue can accommodate people who are handicapped.

Can Both the Ceremony and the Reception be Held There?

Unless you want to go somewhere else for a particular reason, it is usually easiest to have the ceremony and reception in the same location. However, to do this, you have to make sure the venue can host both the ceremony and the reception. Otherwise, you will have to go through the hassle of searching for an additional location.

Can We Move Things for Our Purposes?

If the venue doesn’t let you move their things, it may be difficult to decorate and set up the way you want. In order to be able to have the perfect details and decorations for your theme, ask if the venue will allow you to move things.

What is the Weather Contingency Plan for Outside Events?

If you plan to have any outside events such as games, photos, the reception, or the ceremony itself, make sure the venue has a contingency plan for bad weather. Do they have an extra place to move things? Do they have a plan for quickly relocating? If not, you’ll either have to come up with these yourself or risk being caught in inclement weather.

What is the Cancellation Policy?

It is important to know the cancellation policy of the wedding venue. You may find a better venue, or you might discover something that requires you to use another site. Will they refund any deposits? How soon does a cancellation need to be made? Ask about these before making arrangements.

So, you can find your fairytale venue by asking these simple questions. Have fun planning, and congratulations!

Are you looking for an affordable and professional wedding photographer?

Well, consider me.

You have probably been on top of everything regarding your wedding, but that does not mean you haven’t missed a thing or two. It may seem unbelievable, but you may be forgetting the following five things and you really shouldn’t.

Get an Emergency Kit

Sometimes, the emergency kit is overlooked. This can be customized to your specific needs. The kit should contain things like a sewing kit just in case you have any mishaps. You should also include snacks and a bottle of water. You might get hungry and thirsty with all the running around. You should also bring an aromatherapy tool like an essential diffuser for your favorite calming herb like lavender. Talk to your wedding coordinator to get a full list.

Schedule Pre-Wedding Photos

You need to make sure you do not forget a pre-wedding photo shoot. Most brides only think about the pictures that are going to be taken at the wedding, but you should also have a photoshoot before the wedding to take playful and casual photographs to share with your guests later.

Have a Medical Checkup

Another little-known thing you must do is go in for a pre-marital check-up at the doctor to make sure everything pans out for your honeymoon. You might not think you need this, but there is a lot that could go wrong, like vaginal dryness, which makes the act feel quite painful. There are many things your doctor can provide for vaginal dryness treatment, but you also might want to bring up birth control if you are attempting to wait before getting pregnant.

Perform a Debt Check

You are probably getting lost in love, which is great, but you still have to consider debt. You are going to be assuming each other’s financial issues, and it is better to talk about them so that you begin to make preparations together. This is one of those things you do not want to be surprised by.

Book Cooking Lessons

It may sound surprising, but some people do not know how to cook. You are probably going to be moving out and going on your honeymoon. Sure, you may be able to get room service, but there may be times when you or your spouse need to cook. You both should take a few lessons to learn how to make meals from scratch because eating out all the time can get expensive.

These are just some of the things you need to consider before the big day. There are other things you need to know, and you can talk to your wedding coordinator to see if he or she has additional ideas for you. Also, if you’re worried about your makeup and ensuring that your beauty lasts throughout the whole ceremony and photoshoot, check out our blog for tips.

The Best Places to Run a Wedding Business https://www.exposethemoment.com/blog/2018/7/The-Best-Places-to-Run-a-Wedding-Business Wedding Venue 150x100 - The Best Places to Run a Wedding BusinessWedding-Venue-150x100

Whether you’re opening up a reception hall or catering business or offering a wedding service, such as invitations, cakes or music, finding the right location is pivotal. While you can explore a host of different markets depending upon your company’s exact offerings, consider how certain places can help you to bolster business from the start.

Urban Areas

A city is a suitable place for a wedding business because you simply have more potential clients than in suburban or rural areas. In fact, individuals may travel from these nearby places to host their weddings in the city. If you are not the owner of a reception hall, a city offers you the chance to work with some of these venues. Perhaps you could become a preferred vendor at a big reception hall, thereby drawing in more business. Competition will be tough, though, so make sure your services are unique and well-defined so as to draw in the clients that you know will love your business and recommend it wholeheartedly.

Young Communities

While people of all ages get married, consider the fact that many couples are in their 20’s or 30’s. Therefore, setting up your business in a place with these demographics can prove helpful. You can usually view the demographics of a particular area online. Furthermore, you could look into an area that has colleges nearby, such as big cities like New York. If you don’t want to move into such a big town to look for younger people, there are plenty of places like Utah Valley, where there are multiple universities just within an hour of each other. After graduating from college, many young people stay in the area where they rent their first apartments and take on their first post-college jobs.

Wealthy Towns

Chances are that you went into the wedding business because you have a love for the services and products that you provide. However, you’re probably going to want to make some money too, right? By setting up in your business in a place that has an above-average income, you can likely increase your odds of making a profit. Checking for income amounts in different neighborhoods is also possible to do online. Right now the most expensive place to get married in is Manhattan, as couples here tend to spend more on venues and other wedding necessities.

Check Out Marriage Rates

Did you know Hawaii is actually the state with more marriages than any other in the country? Did you know that running up to Hawaii are Nevada and Utah? These places have plenty of people getting married and are going to be great places to look at for starting your wedding business. While they’re quite different, in culture and style, they can be rather exciting too. Nevada has an extravagant nightlife, Hawaii has great vacation locations and an exocitc feel, while Utah has many of nature’s wonders to enjoy and calm neighborhoods. On the other hand, avoid states with low marriage rates, like for example, Mississippi.

The exact place where you decide to open your business is going to depend upon a variety of factors. For example, you must take into account what you’re selling and if the people in the neighborhood are interested in it. Reviewing all of these factors before selecting a space can help you to get started in the right direction as soon as you open.

Building the Newlywed Home https://www.exposethemoment.com/blog/2018/7/Building-the-Newlywed-Home Modern-Digs(pp_w768_h391) Image Courtesy of Modern Digs

You’re hitched! You’re ready to start living in wedded blissand that all begins by moving in together. Easier said than done. Moving in together can be one of the first challenges newlyweds face. Whether you are trying to integrate two individual styles or are entirely in sync, marriage requires equal participation in the decision making.

The reality is that as two separate humans, there are going to be moments when you don’t agree, but making your house a home doesn’t have to be one of them. Here’s a look at choosing and decorating your soon-to-be homewith your own newlywed spin.

First Steps

Moving into your first home together is an exciting part of marriage. But the home buying process can be intimidating for first-time buyersparticularly when you’re already stressed about planning a wedding. If you have yet to decide on a home, then there are some important considerations to keep in mind.

For starters, it’s essential that you both remain mindful of what you can afford. Financial strife is the last thing you want to tackle in the early stages of a marriage. Make a budget of your current expenses before starting the house hunting process. If you plan on financing your home, then take steps to understand your mortgage payments and how this expense will fit into your monthly budget.

After assessing your finances, it’s important to agree on what you want from a home. A real estate investment is no joke so be sure that you are on the same page. Sit down with each other and discuss your wants and needs. See where you are willing to compromise and understand what you both consider to be necessities. That said, remember that this will likely be a starter home and doesn’t have to be perfect right away. Once you’ve found a home, it’s time to personalize it with home decor.

Living Room

The living room is the center of every home. Make your newlywed space one that reflects your personalities. You will most likely use your living room space to relax after work, sit and read, snuggle and watch a movie, or to host gatherings with family and friends. Developing your style while taking into consideration the functionality begins with the furniture. Choose furnishings that contribute to the atmosphere you aim to achieve. Choose a focal point to bring attention to–this can be a fireplace, television, or art. Invite conversation to this gathering space by arranging seating that allows people to see face to face.

Kitchen

Your newlywed kitchen will be another centerpiece to your home. You may be the couple that frequently orders out or one that cooks and cleans every meal together. Regardless of your lifestyle, a clean and organized kitchen will always be functional and ready for use. If you want to find ways to connect and bond as a couplethe kitchen can be a great place. Try planning and preparing a few meals together each week. This will not only give you practice collaborating as a couple, but you’ll also be gaining new skills and maybe even find your signature dish.

Dining Room

The meal is prepared and ready to be served, now you only need a good place to enjoy it. Making the dining room a pleasant and inviting place begins with understanding your needs. The dining area should be practical and functional to your lifestyle. Whether your dining table seats two or twelve, make the space comfortable and inviting by adding good lighting.

If you haven’t already gathered your perfect dinnerware from your registry, take the opportunity to select a set that fits your personality and has longevity. When it comes to decorating, find ways to add personal touches or a few custom details to enhance your space like adding painted accent walls, hanging some artwork, and selecting some houseplants.

Bathroom

For many newlyweds, the bathroom can quickly become a sore spot. Take the opportunity to reflect on your own bathroom habits. If your bathroom is a small space, try to find creative storage solutions that can help you keep your bathroom tidy and clutter free. This will help solidify this space as one that can be shared.

The bathroom can also be a place for romance. If you have a bathtub or shower you can enjoy together, try enjoying each other’s company. Pamper yourselves with some high-quality towels and toiletries, and maybe even splurge on a pair or robes too.

Bedroom

Your bedroom is your sanctuary and to kick it all off, and you need to have a mattress that you both love. The expense is one you’ll need to decide together, but keep in mind that a good mattress can be worth the expense and one that will serve you for many years to come. If you both have different needs and preferences, try looking at a mattress that offers adjustable settings to help you both sleep comfortably together.

Outdoors

Treat this space as an extension of your living room. Whether your home is located in a wide-open range, or a tight city spacefinding ways to connect with the outdoors can be useful for your health. From the smallest patio to an oversized backyardthere are plenty of ways to make a comfortable outdoor space you’ll love. Add some seating, outdoor plants, and maybe even a bird-feeder. The only thing that matters is that you make it speak to your needs. Determine how you will use the spacebe it for entertaining or a quiet place to meditate.

Designing a space of your own is something many newlyweds look forward to. Be thoughtful, considerate, add a touch of creativity, and blending those two styles will be the perfect match, and remember not to blow your entire budget on the ceremony and reception, as that money you saved after is going to come in handy here.

Getting Married? Helpful Tips to Avoid Blowing Your Budget https://www.exposethemoment.com/blog/2018/5/Getting-Married-Helpful-Tips-to-Avoid-Blowing-Your-Budget bride and groom happy backyard wedding budget wedding 150x100 - Getting Married? Helpful Tips to Avoid Blowing Your Budgetbride-and-groom-happy-backyard-wedding-budget-wedding-150x100

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage! How is wedding planning going? Is everything just a bit too expensive? You’re not the only one who thinks so. We want your wedding to be a time of celebration and not of financial heartache. That’s why we’ve compiled these five tips for creating a memorable ceremony and reception that is still frugal.

1. Focus on intimacy instead of size

Of course, you want everyone to share in your happiness. There is, however, such a thing as inviting too many people to the party. When drafting a guest list, think about quality over quantity. The more people you invite, the less intimate your celebration becomes, and the higher the cost for invitations, food, favors, and other guest-related costs. Consider focusing your energy on creating an intimate setting where you, your spouse, and close loved ones are present. The others will understand and enjoy the pictures that you post online after the festivities have convened.

2. Have your wedding at home, at a park, or at the beach

Many soon-to-be newlyweds do not realize the expense of renting a location for their ceremony and reception. It may be much cheaper to hold your wedding event outdoors where the scenery is picturesque enough for great pictures. In these scenarios, have a back-up plan in case of rain or unexpected winds. You don’t want your frugal wedding to turn into a nightmare. In cases where the weather won’t allow for an outdoor wedding, ask friends and family members if they would be willing to host your wedding in their home (of if they know someone else who might). A charming wedding at a relative’s home could be just the solution you’re looking for.

3. DIY invitations and favors

Not everything in your wedding makes sense to DIY. There are some tasks that are best left to the professionals (for example, your photographer). But there are definitely ways to cut costs with non-essentials by doing it yourself. For example, many brides spend hundreds of dollars on custom-designed invitations that either end up in the trash or lost in the mail. Save money on invitations and wedding favors by making them yourself. Enlist the help of the bridal party for tasks like this.

4. Take out a small loan

If, after you have saved and budgeted all you can, you still find yourself with a budget shortfall, it might be practical to take out a small loan. Taking out a loan for a wedding should not be undertaken in frivolous circumstances. Loans are not the ideal solution, but if unexpected expenses pile up and savings run out and you have no other way of increasing your income or borrowing from friends or family, it may be best option available. Large loans for weddings are not advisable; if a loan is necessary at all, keep it small, and adhere to a strict budget.

5. Rent your dress

Wedding dresses and alterations can get ridiculously expensive. This advice is probably too much for most brides, but it’s true: renting your wedding dress is a practical and budget-friendly choice. After all, you only wear the dress for one day, right? What could be more wasteful than spending thousands of dollars on a garment that you will only wear once? It’s the same reason why many grooms rent a tux for their wedding day—it’s a great strategy to save money! Renting a wedding dress usually costs well under $1000, and that price often includes alterations and accessories (veils, corsets, slips, sashes and more). Also, rented wedding gowns are often highly customizable, allowing you to build your dream dress exactly as you want it by mixing and matching skirts and bodices in the renter’s inventory. Don’t let stigma scare you away from this great, cost-effective option!

Weddings are beautiful occasions that should leave everyone feeling joyful and happy. If your finances are a source of struggle in wedding planning, there are many more strategies for saving money out there. You can save money and still have a lovely wedding that you can look back on in years to come.

Bohemian Bridals: 4 Tips for Styling a Boho Bride https://www.exposethemoment.com/blog/2018/5/Bohemian-Bridals-4-Tips-for-Styling-a-Boho-Bride dreamstime s 68074761 150x100 - Bohemian Bridals: 4 Tips for Styling a Boho Bridedreamstime_s_68074761-150x100

For the bohemian bride, doing it her way is key. Being unique, alternative, free spirited, and non-traditional is the essence of bohemian. It is similar to an attitude of freedom to be whoever and whatever she wants for her special day. Her specific and independent look can transform her bridal photos into magical, romantic memories that last throughout her lifetime.

Hair

Most hairstyles for the boho bride are based on a natural look. They usually incorporate textured hair that is loose, curly, or wavy. The look is unpolished, gentle, romantic, and natural above anything else. Boho bridal hair often flaunts voluminous, messy braids accented by headpieces, ribbons, and crowns of flowers. This look can make the bride look very feminine and radiant.

Shoes

Boho shoes compliment and complete the outfit of the bride, but they also should tie in to jewelry and accessories. Boho shoe styles offer a great range to choose from, and they are typically more casual and comfortable than traditional high-heels worn by brides. Choose white sandals adorned with rhinestones, or a gladiator sandals with metallic studs, or minimalist leather booties, or another style of boho shoe. Any of these styles will fit the sexy and romantic boho ideal.

Jewelry

Jewelry should adorn the bride in small ways, with details that bring the entire ensemble together. Boho jewelry is best described as ethereal. When it comes to selecting jewelry, Love and Lavender advises, “It’s easy to get overwhelmed and caught up in all of the options – from floral headpieces to shoulder chains, from arm cuffs to shimmery gold tattoos….Don’t go overboard by selecting too many pieces. Instead, choose a few key pieces to complement your hair, makeup and the style of your dress will be the perfect finish to your look.” These small elements can highlight a look and attitude that the bride may possess.

The Dress

The dress is, of course, the most essential piece of the bride’s look, and everything else she buys to wear on her wedding should be coordinated to match it. It can take days and even months for a bride to pick out the one dress. Boho dresses can vary in color, from soft white, to cream, to blush, to nude. Many boho dresses choose to incorporate lace details and sheer fabrics, all cut to flatter the bride’s body. Long sleeves and low backs are a signature of this style. For inspiration on what elements of boho you’d like in your dress, look no further than Pinterest or Etsy.

With all of these wedding styling tips combined, the ultimate boho bridal look can be formed. Any boho bride will want everyone at her wedding to know that she is beautiful, natural, wild, free, and untamed.

How to Transform a Bland Wedding with Five Simple Fixes https://www.exposethemoment.com/blog/2018/4/How-to-Transform-a-Bland-Wedding-with-Five-Simple-Fixes wedding brownfloral.net 150x116 - How to Transform a Bland Wedding with Five Simple Fixeswedding-brownfloral.net_-150x116

Weddings are occasions filled with tradition, but that doesn’t mean you need to follow the rules. Highly personalized weddings that reflect the personalities and interests of the couple are the hottest trend. Below are five ways you can ditch bland and boring wedding traditions and replace them with a fun new twist:

Replace Your Guest Book

The old-fashioned guest book is dull and predictable. Memorialize the day and all your amazing guests with something more personalized. If you’re passionate about travel, have guests sign a globe. Collect fingerprints instead of signatures. Have guests drop notes or well wishes into an origami “wishing well” for you read later. The sky’s the limit!

Update the Cake

wedding-cake-300x200

Traditional tiered wedding cakes can be fun, but you don’t have to commit to one. Cupcakes arranged artistically on stands are as beautiful and easier to eat. Pancakes arranged in layers make a great cake alternative for a breakfast brunch. You can even skip the cake entirely and offer candy, pie, ice cream or any other dessert you prefer. As long as the product is artistically arranged and reflects your personality, no one will miss the cake.

Think Outside the Box with Flowers

wedding-brownfloral.net_-300x232

Your wedding flowers don’t have to be traditional options like white roses or pastel hydrangeas. Pick out flowers that suit your preferences and color scheme. If you’d prefer, you can skip them entirely and replace traditional arrangements with candles, lanterns, origami shapes or anything else that strikes your fancy.

Bridesmaid Dresses Don’t Have to Match

Instead of going through the stress of picking out a style of dress that will look good on every member of your wedding party, let your bridesmaids wear dresses they already own. Offer a few guidelines, such as a color palette or general style, and enjoy the variety and personality of your unique wedding party.

Cut Out the Down Time

time-300x200

Restless guests are prone to over-drinking and boredom. Find ways to trim “down time” in the day’s events, especially between the ceremony and reception. You can cut down on delays by taking photos before the ceremony and having the ceremony and reception at the same location. Be sure to provide plenty of refreshments to guests as soon as the ceremony is over to keep the energy levels high.

From decorations to food to the ceremony itself, every aspect of your wedding can be personalized to suit your tastes. Don’t get hung up on tradition; trudge boldly forward to create a special day you’ll remember forever.

Sharon-Christopher-225x300

Sharon & Christopher

Here is their love story:

Christopher & I met in church. I’d been raised by a religious mother who brought me every Sunday & was volunteering when I saw him. He came in with his mother & younger sister. I had never seen them before, but his shock of auburn hair & the way he doted on the most important ladies in his life drew my eye. Shortly thereafter he asked me to go out for a bite to eat. Being the naive church girl I am whose best friend happens to be a male she goes out with platonically all the time, I didn’t get the hint. As we left the Thirsty Moose in Dover, passing a couple clearly on a terrible first date, he turned to me & said; “I hope that’s not how you feel”, to which I replied, “wait, this is a date?” Within the next two months, we were ‘official’ & learning about each other; who had what baggage, how we could overcome it. He had been in a pretty terrible relationship previously in which he moved out of state pursuing his girlfriend only to find out she’d moved on in more ways than one. I had never been in a relationship at all & was learning the subtleties of navigating the hurts you didn’t inflict & that even if you’ve never been in one, you still have expectations about relationships. I’m thankful every day to be ‘allowed’ to love him as less than a century ago the color of our skin would have kept us apart. Fortunately, Loving v. Virginia in 1967 made not only us a possibility, but my parents before me. I wouldn’t even be here were it not for love winning out against adversity. And I feel like that’s been our story from the beginning. Whether or not you believe in God, I’d say there’s a trail of miracles in our wake with hopefully more to come ahead. We may not have the most romantic story, but it’s ours. We’re saying our vows at Tarbin Gardens as we got engaged in Fuller Gardens (gardens are kind of my thing) & from that day on I’ll get to wake up to my best friend & biggest supporter; good, bad, happy, ugly crying every single day. And that’s all the romance I need, a quiet life as a happy wife. Is it enough to win a contest? Maybe not. But it’s a dream come true for a naive church girl & a sensitive guy from another life.

Makeup trends

Makeup trends come and go, but a few have managed to stay put long-term. These makeup trends enhance facial symmetry and make your face look perfect in photos. If you are preparing for a photo shoot or a special occasion, here are a few things that you should be paying attention to.

Full Lips

A full pout is always on trend. Lip liner is a useful tool for achieving this look. However, be sure to follow your natural lip line and use a matching lip color to avoid a stark contrast. If you want your lips to be the focal point of your face, choose a brighter color. If not, stick with a more natural shade. If you are getting photos taken, avoid using a shiny lip gloss on top of your lipstick. The gloss may catch the light and create a weird shine.

Full Eyebrows

Many women overpluck their brows to accommodate passing trends in makeup, but a natural full brow shape is always your best bet. Full and shaped eyebrows that are done properly can give you an instant eye lift and maintain the symmetry of your face. If you don’t have great eyebrows, don’t despair. There are procedures like microblading that will give you beautiful fuller-looking eyebrows. It can also help you get a better-shaped eyebrow that fits your facial structure.

Contouring and Highlighting

Contouring and highlighting is a simple way to make your face appear more chiseled and can also make your cheekbones pop. Use a contouring color no more than two shades deeper than your natural skin tone for the best results. Apply along your cheekbones, jawline, and forehead for a sunkissed look. When it comes to highlighting products, you may use a shimmer or matte finish depending on your preferences. Apply it wherever the light would naturally hit your face such as below the brows, above your cheekbones and on the bridge of your nose.

Voluminous Lashes

Full eyelashes are always on trend, but achieving this look can be challenging for some women. For starters, many women struggling with their eyelashes clumping after applying mascara. Others may experience excess product building which results in a lumpy look. For the best results, use a high-quality eyelash comb to comb through your lashes after applying mascara. This will ensure that each lash is separated and prevent undesirable clumps and lumps. Long eyelashes look gorgeous in headshots, so make sure you get this right.

It can be fun to try new makeup fads, but when you want to look your best for pictures and other important events, stick to the timeless looks. You won’t look back on your photos and wince later.

Beautiful Bridals – How to Prepare for Wedding Photos https://www.exposethemoment.com/blog/2018/3/Beautiful-Bridals-How-to-Prepare-for-Wedding-Photos Wedding,NH Photographerwedding-150x150

Long after the final grain of rice is thrown, and the last dance danced, you’ll still be enjoying your wedding pictures. These vital memories will continue to make you smile for years to come – or they’ll make you cringe if they’re not done by a competent professional. Make sure your wedding photos are the best they can be by following these practical tips.

Plan Your Wedding Attire

wedding-marriage-bride-groom-300x158

How you feel on your wedding day will directly impact how your pictures turn out. If you feel good, you’ll look good. Make sure you choose a wedding dress that is not only beautiful but comfortable and shoes you can walk in. If your wedding day is in February, skip the strapless dress and opt for something seasonally appropriate. It’s hard to smile for photos if your teeth are chattering. It’s a good idea to avoid any dramatic haircuts. If you’ve always worn your hair long, you may want to hold off on that new pixie cut for now.

Get Ready to Smile – a Lot

sara-chris-02-200x300

The most important thing you’ll wear on your wedding day is your smile. But be careful; a shimmering white dress will cause even the pearliest whites to look yellow by comparison. By seeing to your oral hygiene, you can be sure your teeth will look their pearly white best on your big day. Schedule a cleaning and any needed dental work and treat yourself to a teeth whitening treatment. Talk to your orthodontist about ways to straighten your teeth leading up to the big day. Modern solutions may not necessitate surgery or appliances. Nearly invisible aligners have been called “a great adult alternative to braces”.

It’s hard to not smile on your wedding day. Take care of your oral hygiene, and you’ll be sporting a beautiful smile in all your wedding pictures.

Organize Your Wedding Pictures

Take the stress out of your wedding day by meeting in advance with your photographer. If you’re sweating the details on your big day, it will be hard to look relaxed in your pictures. Provide your photographer with a list of desired photos and backdrops. Want a shot with each of your bridesmaids and a still of the favor table? Now is the time to let your photographer know. Give your bridal party in advance the time and location for pictures, so you’re not hunting them down at the last minute. Organize now, and enjoy your wedding pictures for years to come.

Take Care of Yourself

If you’re happy and healthy, that will shine through in your wedding pictures. Get enough sleep, drink lots of water, and choose healthy meals to keep your skin clear and your energy up. Relax and enjoy some quiet time with your intended. Wedding planning can be stressful, so don’t forget to take care of yourself.

This is a wonderful time of life – but it’s a hectic time of life, and the stress of the looming event can threaten your peace of mind. Make sure that your engagement and wedding photos are done by a professional photographer so that you can eliminate this to-do as a stressor and enjoy peace of mind – at least about this one thing.

Perfect That Pout

You’re sure to be smiling at your wedding, and what better way to highlight that smile than with a few makeup tips. Look for a great-colored lipstick and gentle dental work to make your smile gleam in pictures. Consider a nice lip scrub to prep your puckers for the perfect shade of pink or red. To make your smile extra noticeable, consult a dental professional for a quick whitening treatment. According to Ledden and Bradley Dental, most teeth whitening procedures come in strips, trays, or in-office treatments. Choose the one that works best with the time table you have. You won’t be afraid to smile for photos with a gleaming grin!

Take a Test Run

You’ve picked your perfect hair and make-up look for your wedding, but have you tried it out yet? Luckily, most beauty departments and hair stylists can give you a quick makeover or test-run in order to perfect your look and gain quick business. Choose something that won’t be too far from your daily look for recognizable photos and a natural-looking style.

Build Your Body

You’ve toned and tightened your new body for this day, but you can make it look even better. Try out a spray tan a few days in advance and invest in a creamy moisturizer with a self-tanning application to look bronze with your dress. If you have a paler complexion, or plan to marry in winter, stick to skin hydration and moisturization for a more winter-ready look.

Get Your Beauty Routine Done Early

Facials and waxing may just what you need for the big day but if you have sensitive skin, you may need to experiment with your beauty regimen early. Schedule your pampering about a week in advance in case you have an allergic reaction to any treatments.

Take it Easy

You’re sure to be stressed the night before your wedding. It’s important to relax, hydrate, and concentrate on you. Take a soothing bath and treat yourself to a massage in a room by yourself before the big day. Relish in high-quality sheets and silk pajamas to feel rested for the big day.

You’re sure to be refreshed and looking gorgeous with these beauty tips Take a deep breath and take your vows. Today is all about you!

5 Secrets to Looking the Very Best on Your Big Day https://www.exposethemoment.com/blog/2018/3/5-Secrets-to-Looking-the-Very-Best-on-Your-Big-Day Wedding,Photographer NHwedding-2367561_640-150x150

wedding-2367561_640(pp_w480_h319) Your wedding day is one of the most momentous events of your life. As a bride, you’ve probably dreamt of this day since you were a little girl and you’ve probably spent many months planning the execution of every little detail. When the day finally arrives, you’ll want to look and feel your best. Here are a few tips for making it happen:

Get Lots of Rest

Sleep has a huge impact on your physical and emotional state. Try to get at least seven hours of uninterrupted rest the night before your big day. Go to bed earlier than normal and give yourself plenty of time to shake the pre-wedding jitters and fall asleep. You should also try and keep a normal sleep schedule in the weeks leading up to your wedding. One good night of sleep isn’t enough to fix weeks of little to no sleep.

Consider Teeth Whitening

Your smile will be one of the main displays on your wedding day, and you’ll want to be proud of your pearly whites. Consider teeth whitening at least six weeks before your wedding date. If you decide to go this route, make sure your teeth are healthy so that the whitening will work. As Markham Dental points out, teeth whitening is an aesthetic procedure, so if your teeth aren’t healthy, it won’t help that much.

Pick the Right Makeup

Whether you’re self-applying makeup or having it professionally crafted, the right product is key. Many makeup lines sell products designed specifically for weddings or special occasions. Look for products that are free of titanium oxide and zinc oxide and steer clear of mineral-based powders or BB creams with SPF. These products and ingredients usually cause flashback and should be avoided. You should also make sure you practice with whoever is doing your makeup, so you make sure you get the look that you want.

Care for Your Hair

When it comes to making sure your hair stays in place properly, you need to start considering it several days in advance. Depending on what type of hair you have, you don’t want to wash it too close to when you are getting it styled, or it might still be wet or it might not have enough natural oil to hold your style well. Freshly washed hair can be difficult to work with, so give yourself 24 hours in-between washing and styling.

Consider Self-Tanner

A tan and toned complexion can make all the difference in your wedding photos. There are plenty of mild toners that can help you bronze before your big day. Make sure you practice before your wedding day and choose a lotion that fits your natural complexion. The goal is to enhance your natural look and create more glow, not turn you into an orange.

Your wedding is an exciting event, and you are going to look back on it throughout your life. Use these tips to make sure that you look your best and everything goes according to plan.

5 Ways to Capture the Perfect Wedding Photo https://www.exposethemoment.com/blog/2018/3/5-Ways-to-Capture-the-Perfect-Wedding-Photo Flower,Wedding Photographyflower-3185225_640-150x150

How to capture the perfect wedding photo

There are some moments in life that we never want to forget. Moments that define our experience and make us smile just thinking about it. Graduation, first date, winning championships and so forth are all part of that experience. For many, our wedding is one of these memories.

Capturing those moments in a photograph is a great gift. A gift that will likely be cherished for years to come as the photo hangs on walls, in albums, or even as a profile picture.

Here are some of our tips on how to capture the perfect wedding photo.

Get to know the couple

Getting to know the couple will help a photographer learn their style. Are they a silly couple or a serious couple? Is their relationship passionate, or sweet, or both? Knowing this about a wedding couple will direct the type of photos that will show their personality.

Many photographers choose to do an engagement session for this reason. This session is a less formal photography session that will help everyone get acquainted.

Wait for the right moment

Everyone knows to smile when they pose for a photo. But, sometimes, the more casual pictures turn out to be the best. A good photographer will capture that real moment when the couple looks into each other’s eyes, rather than being posed.

After taking a posed photo, avoid putting your camera down right away. Wait for that moment that the couple shows their real selves and keep snapping shots.

The right moment may even include the proper lighting. Looking at sun placement as well as the light standards can make all the difference.

Pay attention to the details

Is the bride’s hair out of place? Is the grooms boutonnière turned? Or, did a bridesmaid have her necklace backward? Pay attention to these details. A quick fix at the time will make it more likely that all of your pictures turn out perfect.

Have your gear ready

There is nothing worse for a photographer than missing that perfect moment because your camera was not prepared. Make sure you have everything you will need at hands reach. Try using a photography backpack so that you can keep all your essential items with you the whole day and not miss a single shot.

Know your camera

The perfect photo is more than just a simple aim and shoot. It involves knowing the features of your camera. If you move outdoors quickly, you will want to be ready to change your camera’s settings so that you can get the perfect photo every time.

Reception Ideas for Thrill-Seeking Couples https://www.exposethemoment.com/blog/2018/2/Reception-Ideas-for-Thrill-Seeking-Couples Reception Ideas for Thrill-Seeking CouplesReception-Ideas-for-Thrill-Seeking-Couples-150x150

The reception is what all everyone looks forward to after the wedding. You want to make sure it’s not only memorable for you, but for the guests as well. Below you will find a list of unique and more adventurous ideas that just might make you say “I Do” all over again.

Reception-Ideas-for-Thrill-Seeking-Couples(pp_w768_h442)

Surprise Entertainment

It’s always a thrill when you don’t know what’s coming next. Try and surprise your guests, or even your significant other with a performance by a band, or something totally different like aerialists or salsa dancers. You could even get real creative and have a firework show. Leave little hints in the invitation to pique interest and get more of an audience to attend.

Get Adventurous

Another idea would be to have a scavenger hunt, or maybe something like a ropes course or climbing wall for everyone to experiment with while they chat. This could be great if you have an outdoor venue. The photographer could get some unique candid pictures, and it’s entertaining for the couple and guest alike.

Swing in as the New Couple

How fun would it be to swing in on a rope swing as the new husband and wife? Or perhaps you have golf carts or a small walk for guests to go up to where you’re at. Maybe you’re both into the dance scene and you go for the full ballroom experience. Instead of a traditional reception line, try something that’s going to get people moving, talking, and having fun.

Have a Ball Pit and a Bounce House

For the kid in all of us, what better way to bring some excitement and thrill to a reception? If you have a big family with lots of kids this is also a great way to keep them entertained while older guests get a chance to catch up.

Hire a Food Truck

Traditional is boring. Why not rent out a food truck for a little extra flair? After the drinks start flowing, and the dancing gets going, what better way to feed that hunger than a food truck?

Play Some Drinking Games

Most likely you will have plenty of friends from high school and college at your reception. Why not take it back to those days and bring out the flip cup and the beer pong? You’ll definitely be getting some high fives for this one.

Rent Out a Photo Booth

With a photo booth, you can relieve all the great moments and memories of your special day. You can order props so your guests can have a hay day in the booth, and you’ll be left with a lot of special memories for your wedding books.

Hopefully these ideas will help with the planning of your thrill-seeking reception. Don’t forget to be true to you and have fun!

Melting foundation, under-eye bags, and stress-sweat are just a few things that can put a damper on a bride’s confidence and keep her from fully enjoying the big day. From bullet-proof beauty products to smelling great all day, here are a few tips that will keep any bride feeling fresh, flawless, and confident throughout every minute of the wedding day.

How-to-Look-and-Feel-Fresh-Throughout-Your-Wedding-Day(pp_w768_h476)

The Right Foundation

This doesn’t necessarily mean choosing foundation with the most coverage. You want a foundation that will hold up and look great in the many, many photos that will be taken of you throughout the wedding day. This means, stay away from foundations that have a lot of SPF in them, as the camera flash will give your face a ghostly-white effect in pictures. For a classic fresh-faced bridal look, choose a dewy, skin-like finish like Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation ($64 from Sephora).

Set and Refresh

This step is crucial in keeping your makeup from looking cakey, dry, or melting off before you even say “I Do”. A setting spray like Urban Decay’s All-Nighter Spray ($32 from Sephora) will lock-down your makeup for optimal longevity. Mario Badescu’s Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater ($12 from Ulta Beauty) is excellent for refreshing and reviving your look throughout the day, while providing some much-needed hydration to your skin. If you have oily skin, make sure you keep blotting towelettes on hand to dab away any excess shine you might have as the party goes on.

Don’t Sweat the Small Things

Whether your wedding destination is in a tropical climate or a heated venue, you should go for a clinical strength deodorant on your big day. Secret’s Clinical Strength Invisible Solid in Clean Lavender specifically targets stress sweat, which produces a smellier odor than regular sweat! This antiperspirant deodorant option leaves you well-equipped for battling a day of nerves and stress, and this Lavender scent will also keep your pits smelling squeaky clean.

Use Perfume Alternatives

If you are worried about your signature wedding fragrance fading throughout the day, perhaps try an essential oil for longer-lasting, more natural scents. Not only will it provide aroma-therapeutic and refreshing benefits for you and your skin throughout your big day, but the scent will big stronger and will last longer in comparison to other perfumes. A few popular doTERRA oils to use as perfume are bergamot, jasmine absolute, and ylang ylang.

Rest easy on your wedding day knowing that by following these simple tips, it is possible to beat the stress and feel fresh, radiant, and confident throughout every step of your wedding. Enjoy your new spouse and take time to revel in your planning. This is something you’ve worked toward for so long. Enjoy and experience every moment!

Photo Props that Actually Donmodel-furniture-couch-photography-portrait-ocean-beach(pp_w768_h568)

We’ve all seen them: unfortunate props used in an engagement, bridal, or wedding photo shoot that come off as unrealistic, unnecessary, funny, or just plain weird. But on the other hand, props can add personality, style, and flair to a photo shoot — if chosen carefully and used in the right way. If you’re feeling stumped, here are a few ideas to get you going.

Furniture in nature

The contrast of statement furniture (which belongs indoors) in a nature creates an eye-catching staging opportunity for both photographer and subject. While sitting on a sofa is good and well, you can up the style factor by thinking out of the box — a table and chairs, a desk, stool, bed; heck, you could even set up an entire living room. Even a piano can be an ideal furniture prop for music-lovers (if you’ve got help moving one!).

Fur accessories

For fall and winter photo shoots, fur is a gentle accessory that can be utilized in many ways. A tiny capelet can top a strapless gown, a fur piece can be a cozy addition to the veil or tiny fur tufts on shoes can add a soft, sophisticated style to your shoot without stealing the stage. To make a little more of a statement, however, a fur blanket can add lavish elegance while also keeping the subject nice and cozy.

Signage

Keep away from the obvious “bride” and “groom” signs on this one. Think about what is unique about you as a couple and have some signs made that you can use for both your photo shoot and the actual wedding. Your photographer may also know some great spots that have large-scale vintage signs that make a perfect backdrop (think old-fashioned billboards or even graffiti). The iconic “Just Married” sign is a great addition to your getaway vehicle.

Parasols

Colorful parasols can add some vigor to bridal party photos while giving everyone something to hold on to. Adding monogramming or ordering them to match specific wedding design colors is easy with the great variety available online. Another fun option is for the bride and groom to “hide” behind the parasol with the onlooker guessing what’s going on behind.

Something in the air

For your engagement shoot, this could be popcorn, champagne, feathers, or bubbles. With your family or bridal party, toss confetti, sparklers, or flower petals (you might want to hold on to the sparklers, though). Some people even commit to glitter. This can add a magical effect to your photos, but be prepared to clean up the mess!

Ultimately, the key to success with photo props is to choose something meaningful without detracting from you as the subject. Props can add an element of fun and individuality to your photo shoot. Contact us today to capture memories that you will cherish for years to come.

Contest Winners for the free NH wedding photography

Cassie Chapdelaine and Lee Zemis

Their submitted story below

We met 10 years on a blind date at my friends house. We had our first date St. Patty’s Day of 2007 and have been together ever since. We had our first child May 6, 2011 and her name is Zoe Zemis. Lee asked me to marry him February 15, 2012. We went to Cooper Door and it was opening weekend. It was a 2 hr wait to just sit at the bar! I kinda knew and joked that he better not do anything at a bar!! We ate and left so then I thought maybe not. He drove us to the Merrimack River near the mills in Manchester and we walked down to wear the stairs are and looked at the river and stars. I was freezing!! He got down on one knee and asked me!! I said yes!! We then left to go pick up our daughter from my parents house. Then the questions starting coming in, when is the wedding date? We wanted to focus on our new family first!! Then Ryder Zemis came 6-21-13!! Now our children are 5 and 3 and are very excited to be part of our families special day. We thought after being together 10 years and having our wedding is going to be a special year!!

Thank you for your time!!

Kristen and Frederico – Reception at Fratello’s Manchester NH https://www.exposethemoment.com/blog/2010/8/Kristen-and-Frederico-Reception-at-Fratello-s-Manchester-NH Pictures removed on request of privacy

Saturday, May 15th, 2010 could not have been a brighter, prettier day for a wedding! Kristen and Frederico’s 11AM wedding meant we could use that gorgeous light all day long, and we did. Bright and early we met up with our bride and groom to witness them preparing for their day. Frederico and his father are clearly the best of friends and both of these guys were going to enjoy the ceremony ahead. Our groom was a picture of calm bravery…and no (hardly any) butterflies to speak of! We shot a few formals in the gardens on the hotel grounds and before we knew it the limousine had arrived.

First Baptist Church was filled with late morning light for Kristen and Frederico…the weather being that one thing you just can’t control, it seems like luck is already shining on them. These two love each other and it shows. Even with First Baptist’s “big room” feel, their vows seemed intimate…maybe just between friends.

Vows, kissing, more photos with family, champagne toast, back in the limo and off to shoot a few formals before their official re-introduction as husband and wife!

Fratello’s, as it turns out, is an excellent location for an afternoon reception. Our newlyweds clearly enjoy the company of great friends and family. The dance floor was alive with a fun, vibrant (and completely unselfconscious) mix of people! That’s the kind of thing that makes our job a good time…that and a few frames we think are classics from the click of the shutter!  Those don’t happen without the right light or without a couple of lovebirds newlyweds to stand in it. Let’s not forget…Fratello’s food was fantastic…the dessert was positively humbling!

Saturday went by in a flash (mostly at 1/125 second)…they always do when people are having a great time, the spirit of the day is animated…the weather rocked!…and two people just happened to have this beautiful wedding and we were there for it! …always an honor to be a part of something so special.

Vanessa and Casey – Wedding at the Steele Hill Resort in Sanbornton NH https://www.exposethemoment.com/blog/2010/7/Vanessa-and-Casey-Wedding-at-the-Steele-Hill-Resort-in-Sanbornton-NH                   Wedding at the Steele Hill Resort in Sanbornton NH

Any number of things can make or break a wedding day for a photographer. On Saturday all conditions conspired to deliver to Casey and Vanessa (and their photographers) a picture perfect evening. Steele Hill Resort provides a gorgeous backdrop for an evening wedding…the kind that makes memories and the sort that picture-people will talk about for years! A mid-summer’s evening light, a pleasantly clouded sky, Winnisquam as a backdrop and two beautiful newlyweds brought out so many beautiful formal photos that we sorta wanted to blow off the reception until the sky went dark! Vanessa was every bit the wedding model…the poise that others will turn to and say “I want THAT look”…and she was just as patient as could be for the photos, considering the hundred-plus guest waiting to greet them back inside the resort. Casey and the guys completed this handsome party with a summertime-formal, “breeze-in, breeze-out” charm, in both style and character!

Back inside the resort, the DJ of the evening, Mike from Split Personality kept people dancing and seriously kept things fun…lots of well-timed banter and a genuine connection with the people he was entertaining!…another one of those little tidbits that make a photographer’s job fun… …people that dance! Vanessa and Casey have a super crowd of friends and family! The dance floor was packed from the get-go…everybody up and gyrating, even the littlest partiers!

Not only did Steele Hill provide a beautiful backdrop for a wonderful wedding ceremony…they’re to be commended for friendly staff and an absolutely stellar meal!… honestly, how many times do you really want seconds of your wedding dinner? Again,…cheers to the resort.

At this point, Vanessa and Casey are enjoying their honeymoon and the first days of the next chapter of their life together. We’re looking over our favorite shots of the evening and thinking well of our bride and groom. They gave us a fantastic day with pictures that we can be thrilled to say we made, and thrilled to deliver…and we wish them all the best in marriage!

Trash The Dress https://www.exposethemoment.com/blog/2009/7/Trash-The-Dress                                               Trash The Dress

I drove 8hrs (483 miles) to Buffalo, NY to attend a Trash The Dress photo session. I had the privilege of staying with Shelley Kuhn and her family. Shelley is a Professional Photographer and is also part of a photography group in Buffalo, NY. Shelley organized the whole event. I also have to give credit to the two models, they are Guy William and Margot Lane. Well without further delay here are the photos.

Updated my cameras and some gear https://www.exposethemoment.com/blog/2008/4/Updated-my-cameras-and-some-gear                              Updated my cameras and some gear

I have recently updated my cameras, I’m now using Canon 40D’s I have (3) of them. I’m also trying this new camera strap called BlackRapid, it allows me hang the camera on my side, and it allows me to quickly swap between to cameras while photographing busy weddings. You can see the photographer who designed the BlackRapid strap here in this video showing it off.
