Finding the right wedding venue is crucial for your big day. But how do you choose? You can find your fairytale venue by asking these simple questions.

How Many People Can It Accommodate?

Be sure to know how many people a venue can accommodate. You don’t want a venue that’s too small for all your guests, and even a venue that’s too large can feel awkward as if enough people didn’t show up. Compare your guest list to the venue’s capacity to find the right fit.

Is It Handicap Accessible?

If you or your guests are disabled, this is extremely important. Nobody should be left out of your big day, so make sure your venue can accommodate people who are handicapped.

Can Both the Ceremony and the Reception be Held There?

Unless you want to go somewhere else for a particular reason, it is usually easiest to have the ceremony and reception in the same location. However, to do this, you have to make sure the venue can host both the ceremony and the reception. Otherwise, you will have to go through the hassle of searching for an additional location.

Can We Move Things for Our Purposes?

If the venue doesn’t let you move their things, it may be difficult to decorate and set up the way you want. In order to be able to have the perfect details and decorations for your theme, ask if the venue will allow you to move things.

What is the Weather Contingency Plan for Outside Events?

If you plan to have any outside events such as games, photos, the reception, or the ceremony itself, make sure the venue has a contingency plan for bad weather. Do they have an extra place to move things? Do they have a plan for quickly relocating? If not, you’ll either have to come up with these yourself or risk being caught in inclement weather.

What is the Cancellation Policy?

It is important to know the cancellation policy of the wedding venue. You may find a better venue, or you might discover something that requires you to use another site. Will they refund any deposits? How soon does a cancellation need to be made? Ask about these before making arrangements.

So, you can find your fairytale venue by asking these simple questions. Have fun planning, and congratulations!
